Visual Arts
The Visual Arts program at AVHS is designed to cater for all students from Prep to Year 12. The Victorian Curriculum is used as a guide for planning and all students are involved in creating, making and presenting art works.
The students explore the areas of painting, drawing, modelling, printing, construction, collage and textiles. The visual art program is designed to support the primary classroom theme units, VPC study units and whole school initiatives.
The program encourages students to experiment with different art elements and media. Students are encouraged to make and share their artworks to communicate personal observations, ideas, feelings and experiences. Students are also encouraged to explore and respond to the artwork of others.
Students work individually and collaboratively on art projects. Student artwork is displayed throughout the school. Art projects are used to celebrate and promote special events within the school.
