Student Leadership
Student Leadership at Ascot Vale Heights School
The Student Leadership Group has representatives from the School Captains and School Vice Captains who are democratically selected by the students from Senior Secondary School and from Primary School –grade 6 students.
This group of students consistently display the school values of Respectful Learning, Community and Collaboration.
The role of our Student Leadership team is to attend fortnightly meetings and support student decisions to be implemented
- Participate in and assist with the organisation of school events including, end-of-term assemblies and special events.
- Prepare written reports to promote the school for the school newsletter and attend the school council AGM
- Be a positive role-model for all students and model our expected behaviours – Be Kind, Be Safe and Be Curious
- Help and listen to all students so they can look to the School Captain to set a good example and help them out.
- Commit personal time to some tasks – help pack up sand pit, collect balls, keep the yard tidy, do some jobs for teachers.

The Student Voice Team consists of representatives from the secondary school and upper primary. This group of students consistently display the school values of Respectful Learning, Community and Collaboration.

They are also expected to:
- Participate in and assist with the organisation of school events
- Prepare written reports to promote the school for the school newsletter.
- Be a positive role-model for all students and display appropriate behaviour at all times.
- Be a good listener and communicator
- Attend Student Voice Team meetings as necessary and support student decisions to be implemented
- Commit personal time to some tasks – making posters, decorating foyer, help with assemblies etc
