Secondary Learning Centre
In our Secondary Learning Centre our aim is to ensure that every student, every day achieves success in their learning and continues to flourish in their personal life.
The learning programs are tailored to deliver and prepare each student to move through the school having the appropriate technology skills, confidence and self-belief to enable them to thrive in their post school option pathway. Increased emphasis is given to problem solving, work experience and community-based programs to best prepare students in becoming travel and work educated, as well as transition into a post school pathway.
The students engage in the Victorian Curriculum through thematic units of work that support students to explore, create, imagine and problem solve using technology within applied learning opportunities. Students are supported in developing their academic skills, being autonomous and becoming independent in their learning and ability to collaborate with their peers.
Our Secondary Learning Centre staff are highly committed and have extensive experience in working with additional needs students to deliver improved learning outcomes in a structured and caring environment.
Student self-management of their learning and themselves and when working with others in the broader community is given a high priority. It is this self-management and social awareness that can make a difference in opening up opportunities on exiting school.
